An Outdoor Smokeless Fire Pit is a gather-round fire 🔥 feature that can be set up on a patio, deck, or anywhere in your backyard. This new Hybrid design is gaining in popularity due to the clean-burning technology that virtually eliminates pesky smelly smoke. Firepits extend the outdoor-living season in style by providing warmth and relaxation. These products can come in a wide range of styles, sizes and materials, but for the most part are set up at ground level.
Industrial Handmade Co. Smokeless Fire Pits function through the use of a double-wall, secondary combustion design. Your initial burn happens from fresh air rising from ports located on the bottom pan of the pit, such as a traditional pit works. Though this is where Smokeless differs, as even more fresh air is pulled in between the double walls it heats as it rises between the gap in the two walls. The fresh air then exits the holes near the top of the inner chamber wall, this pressurized, heated oxygen mixes with the smoke and causes the fire to reburn. This secondary, hotter reburn is what causes our Pits to burn Smokeless, and in turn rewards you with a better Fire Pit Experience!
A Premium Smokeless Firepit will most always be made of quality thick Steel, Corten Steel, Stainless Steel or a combination of the three. If you want to make a stunning first impression on your guests, a Modern Smokeless Steel Fire Pit from Industrial Handmade Co. is sure to do the trick! Be cautious to stay away from the cheap thin pits other Manufacturers produce as it could lead to issues in the future when they fail! Some units currently on the market are not able to be left outside and need to be brought inside after each use, which in our opinion can ruin the end users experience. You will want to make sure you purchase American Made, and not from a company that outsources to other countries with low-quality control standards. Practice due diligence on your purchase, because you want your hard-earned money invested in a product that will last you for many years to come!
The number one thing you want to look for is build quality. How thought out is the design and functionality of the pit? Second, without a doubt would be the quality of materials used and how they are assembled. Pay extra attention to thicknesses of Metal materials used etc. as you will find most companies go thin as possible to keep their manufacturing costs down and you the consumer coming back every year to buy another, because your previous purchase fell apart on you. This is their tactic they rely on to bring in more revenue, and in our eyes is just not fair to the consumer! Purchase a quality product once and you will find it will last for much, much longer and provide a premium experience with less hassle!
Absolutely without a doubt! We offer a couple of different upgrades you can add to your pit to turn it into a Backyard Grill Master’s dream pit 🙌🏻 We made sure to incorporate an adjustable height bracket for the grill as each fire you build could vary in temperature, allowing you to fine-tune your desired heat! Many of our customers even sear their delicious meals right on the rim of the pit, which after seasoned produces some very tasty meals!
We find that thick steel alloys are the best materials to build a Wood Outdoor Firepit from. Steel will retain and radiate heat much more efficiently than any other material including brick or rock. Quality steel will also increase the longevity of the product. Steel, Corten Steel, Stainless Steel or a combination of the three are our preferred materials!
Corten Steel (also known as Weathering Steel) is derived from a group of alloy steels that were developed to obviate the need for painting, and form a stable rust-like appearance if exposed to the weather for several years. Weathering steel has increased resistance to atmospheric corrosion when compared to other steels. Cor-ten steel resists the corrosive effects of rain, snow, ice, fog, and other meteorological conditions by forming a coating of dark brown/red oxidation over the metal, which inhibits deeper penetration and negates the need for painting and costly rust-prevention maintenance over the years. In simple terms the steel is allowed to rust and that rust forms a protective coating that slows the rate of future corrosion. Most recognize the use of Corten in structural bridges and architecture we see every day.
If you are a DIY kind of outdoor enthusiast then you might find you like the challenge of building your own Smokeless Fire Pit. Here at Industrial Handmade Co. we have several styles/sizes of drop-in smokeless pits to choose from to help finish off your Pit. Many of our customers use these in combination with landscaping bricks etc. to build a more permanent and prominent fire pit fixture into their backyards. Installation is dead simple, all you have to do is build your round structure from your chosen material making sure to leave a 2-3″ airflow gap between our Inner steel chamber and your building material, then just simply drop our unit in from the top (no need to screw down or mount). Our durable and oversized steel lips provide plenty of support for the chamber to hang from, even when full of fire wood! Make sure to leave a few inches of clearance below our inner chamber for airflow, don’t set all the way flush to ground level. You will want to provide a few small fresh air tunnels towards the bottom (evenly spaced around the pit) that reaches the inner chamber to provide plenty of fresh air for the reburn secondary combustion to properly take place.
